Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi has officially unveiled its major new expansion — the Lost City, a sprawling 13,445sqm adventure zone that adds over 20 new rides, slides, and experiences to the region’s award-winning waterpark.

The grand opening, held on June 30, was attended by HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General of Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and Dr. Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, alongside media, VIPs, and influencers.

The new zone marks a significant milestone in the park’s growth, bringing Yas Waterworld’s total offerings to over 60 world-class attractions, reinforcing its status as the region’s leading water-based destination.

Themed around the next chapter of the park’s beloved narrative, ‘The Legend of the Lost Pearl,’ the Lost City invites guests into an immersive new world filled with family-friendly fun and high-octane thrills. The design and storyline reflect the spirit of Arabian adventure, seamlessly woven into the park’s identity.

Among the standout additions is Al Falaj Race, the region’s first dueling tube raft ride, where guests compete side-by-side down swift descents and tight curves. For adrenaline enthusiasts, Bahamut’s Rage delivers a pulse-pounding log flume ride with dramatic drops and unexpected splashes.

Young visitors are not left behind. Al Sahel Junior introduces the region’s first mini zero-gravity boomerango ride, complete with thrilling zooms and gentle drops. Meanwhile, Red Dunes and Dawwama Junior provide scaled-down, twist-filled rides for budding thrill-seekers, replicating the fun of larger rides in safe and exciting formats.

Families can enjoy group experiences like Mataha Madness, a raft-based maze of spins and slides, or Sadaf Swirl, the region’s first high-speed raft ride, built for shared screams and laughter.

“This expansion strengthens our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences,” said a Yas Waterworld representative. “The Lost City not only adds capacity and variety, but deepens our storytelling – something that has always set Yas Waterworld apart.”

In addition to the new rides, the expansion includes a new themed dining venue, allowing guests to take a break from the action without stepping out of the adventure.

With its latest development, Yas Waterworld reaffirms its position as one of the Middle East’s most innovative waterparks, now more appealing than ever to families, thrill-seekers, and younger visitors.

Located on Yas Island, home to Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, and SeaWorld Yas Island, Yas Waterworld’s newest chapter is poised to draw even greater numbers this summer and beyond.

The Lost City is now open to the public and promises unforgettable aquatic adventures in the heart of Abu Dhabi.
