Sub-stantially good

There’s nothing we enjoy more than a fresh, tasty sub, so we were excited to head down to Charley’s Grilled Sub’s newest store at the Corniche/Airport Road intersection to sample some of their delicious menu.

There was a lot to get through, so we started at the beginning with a taster of some of Charley’s most popular subs.
First up we try the Chicken Buffalo Sub, a slightly spicy option with tender chicken and delicious fillings. For those who like the spice, extra heat can be added.

Next it was on to the Philly Steak Deluxe (our personal favourite), with tasty steak and just the right amount of cheesy goodness. The recipe for the bread used at Charley’s is also new and improved, making for a soft, moist and delicious eating experience.

The next sub very nearly knocks the Philly Steak Deluxe off its perch in our heart – the All-American Chicken sub. This is a huge taste sensation, with chicken, beef bacon and fresh, salad-y fillings. The special sauce sets the whole thing off and we’re struggling to leave room for the next taste test – wraps.

We take a sip of the delicious natural lemonade, the raspberry flavour our favourite by far, and tuck in to the two wrap options in front of us – the BBQ Cheddar Steak wrap and Philly Chicken wrap. They are just as good as the subs, but a lighter option.

We’re almost full to bursting, but save enough room to try a new offering on the menu – rice bowls. We try the Chicken Buffalo rice and Teriyaki Steak rice, surprised at how fluffy the rice is and how well the grilled meats are prepared – yum!

Charley’s has done it again. Fresh subs with quality ingredients make for a great meal.
