Cress heads build bridges

Children have been enjoying learning to grow and decorate Al Khas mustard cress heads at Khalidiyah Mall Abu Dhabi

cresshead

The great thing about the initiative, which ran from 18th to 19th May, was that children with special needs along with other children were responsible for training visitors how to grow the Al Khas mustard cress heads easily at home.

The training sessions were held alongside a display of plants from Al Khas. The show was intended to educate children and families about the significance of horticulture and its benefits as a form of therapy. It was also held in order to bridge the gap between mainstream children and children with special needs, by promoting the spirit of volunteerism and a sense of social responsibility.
