Around 115 Emirati youngsters taking part in this year’s Tourism Youth Summer Camp, organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), have been briefed on the cultural sites of Al Ain, which have made it to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list

The introduction, delivered by Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, an archaeologist with the Historic Environment Department, TCA Abu Dhabi, explained the importance of the UNESCO ranking and its impact on Al Ain and delved into the sites nominated.

These include: the archaelological sites of Jebel Hafeet, the heights which backdrop Al Ain where early bronze age tombs have been discovered; archaelological sites in the Hili district; the Bidaa bint Saud sites.

“It is important that people are aware of the heritage treasures their Emirate has and the value of the Al Ain World Heritage Sites,” explained Al Nuaimi.
