Team Abu Dhabi power home in style

Ahmed Al Hameli and Thani Al Qamzi finished the season on a high for Team Abu Dhabi as they finished first and second in the Sharjah Grand Prix – the final round of the 2011 UIM F1H2O Powerboat World Championship.

Unfortunately, Al Hameli’s victory was only enough to secure fourth place in the Drivers’ Standings after a poor start to the season, while Al Qamzi cemented third place in the Championship after picking up 15 points for his second place finish.

“I am so excited to end the season by winning here for the second straight year and finishing fourth in the championship despite not picking up any points in the first three events of the season,” said Ahmed. “Now, with this momentum hopefully we can carry this over to next March when we open the season in Doha.”
