Follow our team as they get ready for the ADNIC Yas Run

 

 

Week four of training commenced with the scheduled Sunday session at the Yas Marina circuit, where we were encouragingly informed that our training was slightly ahead of schedule.

 

If that was to prelude any relaxation in the evening’s exertions, we were in for a disappointment. After a short warm up we were given the target for the session, which was five sets of 400m sprints each followed by a 400m jog, which everyone accomplished in their own time.

 

We were back at the Yas Marina circuit for the regular Tuesday session. As this was only our second opportunity to put in a lap of the track, we were all set the challenge of improving on our initial times, which we all managed to greater or lesser degrees.

 

The week was concluded by another run around Zayed Sports City on Friday morning. As there was an organised 10K race being staged in the grounds, we headed out and hit the road for a run around the locality. Spurred on by all the race competitors, we put in a good 40 mins on the road to wrap up the end of the week’s training.

 

With just over a month to go until race day, confidence in the group continues to build. Bring on week five!!
