Abu Dhabi’s netball elite will have home advantage and will be the favourites to defend their Inter-Gulf Netball crown next year
The Abu Dhabi Netball League (ADNL) has announced that the capital will host the 2013 Inter-Gulf Netball Championships – the largest netball event in the GCC – at Zayed Sports City from 1st to 2nd March.
The Emirate’s top players will represent Abu Dhabi at the Gulf’s premier netball competition and will tip off against the best and brightest teams from netballing countries across the region including Oman, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Team selections and trials for the new season get underway in early January while the season will warm up with an international mixed netball event scheduled for early December.
Kellie Pomeroy, chairperson of the ADNL, said: “We are delighted to bring to the capital the biggest Netball Tournament the Gulf has to offer. Abu Dhabi has fantastic purpose built facilities at Sheikh Zayed Sports City and we look forward to welcoming the teams and to host an excellent tournament.”
