“Renewable energy can help reverse the impact of melting glaciers and the UAE has an important role to play to help resolve this global crisis.”

“The UAE is facing a real water crisis. In 2010, the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi warned that the Emirate was using underground water resources 24 times as fast as they can be replenished,” said Abdo.

On her return, she is looking to partner with various organisations both in the public and private sector as well as individuals who are interested in this cause to share her findings and to develop sustainable solutions for this important environmental concern.
