Haddins/Abu Dhabi Week Eight-Week Fitness Challenge closes

timefor01

What an amazing eight weeks it has been for the participants of the Haddins/Abu Dhabi Week Eight-Week Fitness Challenge. On behalf of the team at Haddins Gym, it has been an absolute pleasure to have so many new smiling faces around the gym, pushing yourselves to the limits like never before.

But don’t stop now, the initial hard work has been done. Routines have been created and you now need to keep the momentum going and continue to achieve.

We have learnt about so many things along the way. We now know about the five MUSTS to making exercise a sustainable part of everyday life: how to add more incidental exercise to our hectic schedules, why we must stay hydrated, how to switch on our core muscles (and what they actually are), and the importance of not only training hard, but allowing the body to recover equally as hard.

Some of the team have completed triathlons, some have reduced masses of weight and some have just had a great time training with family and friends along the way. We’ve done burpees and Turkish get-ups, learnt how to use TRX, kettlebells and even our own bodyweight to create full body exercise routines that work.

Congratulations to all participants that took part in the challenge; everyone did extremely well.

A very special mention needs to go programme winner Lisa Gardiner who trained the house down for the full eight weeks and has the results to show for it. With the support of her husband Ross, Lisa attended daily sessions at Haddins as well as being a leading member of the Haddins/Abu Dhabi Week inaugural Tri Yas triathlon team, where she was able to compete in her first individual triathlon with only four weeks of training.
